"Sexy Christianity"

Long before ethnic skirts, kavus, and a profile picture including a dark-skinned baby became popular, the Lord was working in my heart. I could become prideful; distinguishing my calling as unique, almost hipster-ish, before the idea of third world missions and a facebook status became mainstream. But, if this modern day version of sexy Christianity is impacting more hearts to share the Gospel, then praise Him. Praise Him if more people are willing to go beyond their comfort zone. Praise Him if more children are experiencing love, even if it is just one action-packed week of it. But, let us question our hearts...our motivation...the instagrammed pics of mud huts with multiple hashtags. For what and whose sake are we yearning for that plane ticket and matching team t-shirt? Would we still go, would we still save paychecks, would we still love without borders if no one knew of our journey there? Something to think about, something for me to pray about.
